Pete you shouldn't be a dad if you have to ask that question pmsl. We all know you'll feed your little one on the best home cooked food you can afford - WHEN a few months old obviously. Breast is best (not yours just in case you've got confused) for the first 3 months at least. I breast fed my second son a whole year due to feeling guilty at failing miserably with my first son, who I strugged with for only a couple of months and made me very depressed as I felt I'd failed him so was determined to get it right second time round.

With both my sons - when their digestive systems were mature enough to start processing more solid food other than just milk - I would cook then puree white meat and vegetables and put the 'portions' into an ice cube tray which I then froze. I then had my own 'ready meals' in miniature. Word of warning DON'T add any salt to anything equally when they are growing up. Forget you've got sugar and salt as there are natural sugars and salts in fruit and vegetables anyway. And monitor how much they sprinkle on their food. Don't introduce your child either to sugar coated cereals.

We have 'taste buds' on our tongue that 'appreciate' various 'flavours' i.e. sweet, sour, spicy etc. The first of these taste buds that are present in babies and young children is the the 'sweet taste buds'. This is why kids just adore anything coated in sugar and turn their nose up at vegetables !!! I'm sure you've read up loads of books, listened to your Health Visitor, Midwife and GP who will all help answer any questions and offer guidance to you - you only need to ask.

So there you go Tips of the Day !!!
