Ties - are they outdated ?

Fellas have worn ties for eons even today at work there will be a dress code in place - if you work within an office environment - where, wearing a tie is compulsory. For most fellas wearing a tie is uncomfortable, especially in hot weather. Do you think the day of the tie has come to an end and that clothes manufacturers should create a different 'look' with their shirts so that men could still look great in a suit without having to wear a tie to 'set it all off'? Likewise the rules at work relaxed so that you can go in without fear of being 'disciplined' for 'inappropriate attire' !!!

i would never go for a job if you had 2 wear a suit n tie they are for interviews weddings funerals and court appearances only

i dont think men should have to wear ties for work as long as they dress smart and get on with there jobs

Ties are not outdated. At least wearing a suit and tie you can look profesional, and presentable.
Rather than some of the fashions these days, where certain groups are almost walking out of their trousers etc. I look at them and thank whatever that I've never been a follower.

ties i dont wear um unless i have 2 hate the ruddy things feels like i m being strangled but they do have uses as loopy stated

I don't really like ties.. bow ties are nice though.
I think all that suit and tie stuff has a time and place.
Much prefer the casual look. Plus I've always thought
to myself..men don't look to comfortable with a rope
around their necks.
