The Quest

I saw the fire dancing bright
In the darkness of the night
The people stood beside the glow
Some of them I used to know
Many years have now gone past
But now I have come back at last

When I left I was so young
Just a child and full of fun
The things I've seen have made me old
The things I've done have made me bold
I knew I had to be the one
To do things that had to be done

They chose me to fight the fight
I had to make things come out right
But now I'm tired and need to rest
Before the last part of my quest
It will be the hardest part
Because I have to follow my heart

To myself I have to be true
If I want to see this through
For you see my final goal
Is to show my inner soul
Will it be completely pure?
Or will I fail as others before?
