Sweeney Todd

Johnny Depp is so versatiile! Even in the movies that are only so-so, he excels his talents to the point that the so-so is intriguing one has to watch it all the way thru.

Sweeney Todd has such a different twist to a musical. Not one's typical tone setting. Most musicals are upbeat, bright, cheery, and somewhat sugary sickening. Don't get me wrong! They are great for what genre they are. But Burton and Depp had to be patient for this one to come into light... or darkness. (haha) It's brillant writer knew just what the public needed at this time and the timing was right for Burton and Depp's insight to be so connected!

never been really keen on him but he's a good actor.
