I think this refers to me. For the first time in all the years I've been on the internet I actually gave my number to woman - NOTE - NOT A MAN lol. And she phoned me and is a really lovely genuine person. She's also given me all her details. Obviously I'm not going to say exactly what it was she said that gave me that gut feeling that I could trust her and the other person in the room left just before I gave her the number, then Admin.1 suddenly appeared out of nowhere and told me off. I had no idea we were being monitored.

I would normally agree with you, never give one's details out to anyone, but for this one occasion I did and I'm sorry if I broke any rules, it won't happen again.

woc wud suffer if ppl left but ive met 1 off here nt face2face n we hv helped each other sooo much made life much better. sometimes u want sum1 to listen to u n u listen to them regardin important problems n they cnt b discussed on woc cz they need time and attention but i respect all views and can see both points of view, and this aint a chatsite like othersc where ppl are only after sex most ppl on here are genuine n mature

I agree this is a unique site/chat room. Playful inuendos are fine but if anyone starts getting really smutty then the rest of the chat room soon sort them out !!!

So far I've been impressed with the degree of freedom to natter away although one or two words are 'starred' out. Overall, we are being treated as adults and that I very much appreciate. I've had so many 'iffy experiences on various boards/chat room where you get over-zealous mods/admin who go on a power trip and restrict you so much that it simply isn't fun participating anymore.

The other issue that grates and which is a sensitive area is the 'potential to offend'. EVERYTHING that is said has the potential to offend someone somewhere !!

Then the all time popular favourite is the being accused of being a 'rascist' problem. You can't love EVERYONE in the whole world and simply saying I don't like the americans, indians, french or whatever - ISN'T a rascist remark, you are just giving an opinion.

Equally those folk who say - we're all the same etc - actually, no we're not! We ARE different, different cultures, different skin tones, different languages, different laws and religious beliefs. I personally find all the 'differences' with the races around the world so interesting yet very hard to discuss as folk as so 'defensive' these days.

Religion is another touchy subject. If we all accept that no ONE religion is THE one and only way then we'd all get along fine. Again, having read up on a number of religious find their origins fascinating. Some are quite frankly - yes - totally daft - others very thought provoking - and overall I have great respect for the spirituality of the East i.e. China, Japan. People are viewed as a 'whole' when being treated for illness. Their mind, body and spirit are all treated. Amazing. But again, another difficult topic to discuss when people start becoming so argumentative.

Knowledge and learning is power. Having this power of knowledge enables you to progress through life with much more understanding and tolerance of the world around you. Ignorance is what causes problems. If you don't know then you can so easily put your foot in it.

Anyway just a few of my opinions for what they're worth !!!

But - I think on this board all these things are possible.

I just want to say that as a newbie i have found the people i've talked to friendly & able to have a laugh & joke which is good. I've tried a couple of other sites and you get nothing but hassle off the guys on them and the lasses don't talk to you. It is so not like that on here thats why i'm enjoying it.thanks to everyone whats made me feel welcome.

i have swopped addy's with one person, i liked this person and had a good feeling about them. now i have a really good friend. i came to chat on woc and no more. i am no preditor nor will i ever be. i am a genuine person, but how can someone else tell that on the internet? i am very careful what i say and careful who i give my addy to. i wish this was a better world and no one had to worry. in my job i have to have a 'disclosure' of any criminal record every three years and if i have even a tiny blemish........... no job! shame there is not a way of doing something like that on here? i think all females should be very careful, you don't know who you're talking to? what a sad world we live in.

i will say that i'm glad the person trusted me enough, i like my new friend.

chodder is a nice guy and i think its good what happened to him! i wish both of them much happiness.
