A 37 year old woman has died in Iowa from Lassa fever. She had recently visited West Africa which is where Lassa Fever is not unusual.
The news calls it an ebola-like illness.
Now the officials are quickly tracing anyone the woman was in contact with. That has to be a nightmare. Imagine, an international flight no doubt, they need to find everyone who was on that flight. How about those people’s families? I am not familiar with exactly how far contact tracing goes but I do hope they keep this Lassa Fever contained.

Covid-19 is still very much alive today. Hopefully we won’t need to add Lassa Fever to the list!
