Many years ago when I still had time, I would visit the local casino once a month. It was always a very enjoyable experience. I am not a gambler by any means. To me it was a way to relax for a few hours and forget about the world. I’d play in the 5 cent machines and it would take hours just to lose my $20.
One day as I was sitting in front of the Keno machine, relaxing, I noticed that the elderly lady next to me had pulled her card out of the machine and she had a hard time getting it back in. I offered help and she accepted. Turns out her machine was broken and that’s why she could not get her card to go back in. Since she was in a wheelchair and it was pretty busy there, I asked the person next to me to save my seat while I helped the elderly lady to get to a different machine. Once she was seated I went and got her a drink, made sure she had her card in the machine, and then I went back to my own machine.

The person who had watched my seat asked me “Is that your mom?” I said no, I don’t know this her. The person then said “What a nice thing to do for someone you don’t know”. I said yeah, I believe in Karma. Do something good and it will return to you. I swear at that very moment all 7 the numbers I had picked rolled in and to top it off, the last number to roll in was a powerball (meaning whatever you win gets quadrupled). Biggest hit I ever made on my 5 cents.
