Until today, I had never heard of ‘The Uplift’. It seems to be a part of CBS news.
It’s a page where you can watch videos with uplifting stories.

In this video, check the story about the goose, it’s so cute. It starts about 5 minutes into the video.
If you don’t want me to spill the beans then don’t read any further and just watch the video, because here comes a spoiler..

A woman finds a lonely goose at a cemetery. The goose wanders around day after day, and sometimes she will watch her reflection in some shiny gravestones. So the woman decides to put out an ad to find a partner for the goose. She never expected a reaction but she did get one from a couple who had a lonely male goose. The two geese got together and have now been inseparable.

Did you know… geese (as do most birds) stay with the same mate forever. When one of the geese dies, the other will find a new partner but not until it has gone through a mourning period. For geese this is usually 1 to 2 years, depending on the age of the goose.
Last year we had a pair of geese around our pond in the back. They had 5 babies. It was great to see them grow and thrive.
